Rocky Mountaineer Station
The move in April 2005 to an independent station in Vancouver for Rocky Mountaineer, enabled “The Most Spectacular Train in the World” to have a train station equal to the experience offered on every Rocky Mountaineer vacation.
About the Station
The external structure and the brick façade keeps the integrity of the classic rail building – a former CN locomotive maintenance building. The most prominent new feature is the full-length glass wall that provides guests with a full view of the train waiting on the platform, helping to further build anticipation of the trip to come.
The interior retains the cavernous feel of the large urban rail stations of decades earlier with its open concept and vaulted ceilings. All materials selected reflect the Canadian Rockies in their colour and texture while the overall design shows a flow, attentions to detail and flexibility in the space for special events.
Within the building, the waiting area provides guests with an unobstructed view of the train from the station’s interior while listening to softly playing music, enjoying complimentary coffee or tea, complimentary Internet service, or shopping at the retail souvenir kiosk.
The Rocky Mountaineer Station provides an exciting new event venue in Vancouver, as the space is available for rent by community members for corporate and private functions. To find out more information or to plan your next event at the Rocky Mountaineer Station, please click here.
