Get to know our spectacular Vacation Consultants.

We invite you to learn more about us and our passion for Canada’s West. Meet some of our Vacation Consultants. We hope that the following information gives you some insight into our friendly service and our unique approach to creating a spectacular vacation for you.

Our resident Rockies expert
If Sherry wore a bumper sticker, it might read “Ask Me About the Rockies.” Born in the Prairie city of Winnipeg, she later became a tour guide in the Canadian Rockies, gaining expert knowledge of the region and extensive on-the-ground travel experience. For her, every question deserves an answer, so ask away.

Sherry has roamed far and wide since the age of nineteen. Besides exploring new places, she loves being on the ocean—coaching and racing dragon boats! She’s one of hundreds of keen paddlers in Vancouver, which each June hosts the largest dragon boat festival in North America.

A passion for trains and tennis
When it comes to local knowledge, Nancy is the expert, having grown up on the West Coast. She describes herself as “a great ideas person” who likes to make Guests aware of their many options.  Her depth of knowledge guarantees that she will make a difference in helping you plan every detail of your trip.

For her, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations moves all of one’s senses into high gear. The star-studded night-time skies take her back to her childhood. “The soft and gentle clickety-clack rhythm of the train soothes and relaxes my mind almost instantly,” she says.

In addition to travel, Nancy is passionate about tennis. “I love to play it, watch it, read about it. It is my obsession.”

Mapping your next adventure
Justin exudes enthusiasm for outdoor adventure and exploration. Fittingly, he holds a degree in geography. His hobbies include digital photography, kayaking, mountain biking and golf.

“Part of the joy of visiting the Rockies is that you get to be an explorer,” he says. “You get to enjoy one of the last parts of our vast country that is unpaved, untamed, and seemingly uncharted.”

His favourite Rocky Mountaineer train trip is the Fraser Discovery Route, partly for its sense of history. “Quesnel still embraces the gold rush era, which is really what put this province on the map.”

We asked Justin what he enjoys most about his job.  He says “It’s fun speaking with different people, from different countries, yet all brought together by their common interest in train travel.”
