Justin

Background/Individual Expertise:
I have over nine years experience in the hospitality industry. I consider myself to be a true outdoor enthusiast. Photography, kayaking, mountain biking or golfing; I can recommend a few ideal places to do them all. I’ve had the pleasure recently to feel the exhilaration of a zipline adventure in Whistler and have travelled by Float Plane over the Gulf Islands to Victoria. Spectacular!

What makes the Rocky Mountaineer a “Trip of a Lifetime”?
There are a few things that make the Rocky Mountaineer a "Trip of a Lifetime". Firstly, the Rockies are still a frontier and there is a definite, authentic wilderness feel to it. Part of the joy of visiting the Rockies is that you get to be an explorer. You get to enjoy one of the last parts of our vast country that is unpaved, untamed, and seemingly uncharted. Secondly, a train ride is unique, so to see the Rockies by train is even better. There is a definite romantic element to train travel that doesn’t come with any other mode of transport.

Lastly, the third qualifying factor for a "Trip of a Lifetime" is the feelings one gets while in the Rockies. The sheer enormity of the Rockies, the wildlife, the accessibility of it all puts you in a world that is very different from your everyday life. It affects your state of mind and plays to your emotions. It’s hard to explain to your friends how the water at Lake Louise changes colour at every hour of the day, but you will always remember how you marveled at it. The Rockies are as much an experience as they are a destination, which means our guests get more than just a vacation. The photos of the brilliant turquoise waters and enormous snow-capped mountain peaks all help too.

Testimonial: “What a pleasure it was to deal with Justin! He was fantastic, efficient and very fast in processing our booking but yet had the time to ask about our weather.”
Liann, CAA Maritimes

Robyn

Background/Individual Expertise:
Prior to working with Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, I worked in the Film Industry for fourteen years, shooting films all over British Columbia. Now I’m exploring BC like never before!

What do you love about what you do?
Making someone’s dream vacation a reality. There’s nothing more rewarding than being appreciated by a satisfied guest, whether it’s a 2-day trip or a 15-day trip.

My favorite Rocky Mountaineer Route…
The Fraser Discovery Route is my favourite because of the ever-changing scenery. I could hardly put my camera down.

What difference do you make for your guests?
It’s all about the guest’s experience, from beginning to end. Prompt, thorough and reliable service – no question goes unanswered.

Testimonial: “I just ended a lengthy call with Robyn about your various services and she was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and upbeat. She is truly a credit to your organization and makes me want to book client trips with you.”
Chris Ogden, Travel Agent

Heike

Background/Individual Expertise:
I have travelled almost all over the world, visiting more than 27 countries in Europe, Asia and the Pacific. I moved to Vancouver because I absolutely love the city.

Why visit the Canadian Rockies?
The Rockies are filled with inspiring and breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to spot wildlife is everywhere! Plus, the Canadian Rockies offer a multitude of recreational activities. There really is something for everyone.

What do you love about what you do?
I love to help guests create the most memorable time in Vancouver and the Rockies.   I am personally interested in each and every guest and try hard to create the best vacation possible for them.

Testimonial:  “Thank you again for giving such great customer service, we are really looking forward to our visit to Canada and it is so nice to have spoken with someone who talks with such enthusiasm about the area we are coming to.”
Janice Midgley, Harrogate, UK

Heather

Background/Individual Expertise:
I joined Rocky Mountaineer Vacations in 2006.  I’ve travelled to Europe and extensively throughout the United Kingdom.  I spent several years living in the Cariboo region of British Columbia.  I am also looking forward to a cross-country train adventure in August and September of 2008!

What makes the Rocky Mountaineer a “Trip of a Lifetime”?
The Rocky Mountaineer train crosses the vast and untouched wilderness of British Columbia, and into Alberta offering a true sense of the immense size of this great country.  Travelling by train gives you the opportunity to see all the beautiful “in-between” places, unreachable by vehicle or by air travel.

What do you love about what you do?
I am proud to be a part of bringing this unique landscape into the lives of people from all over the world.  By showcasing the environment as we do, I believe I play an important part in its conservation.  I enjoy bringing my experience and passion to every conversation.  When it comes to Vacation planning, I believe in helping guests find the “right fit”.

Testimonial:  “The service you provided is commendable and I have had quite a few instances where I have been able to tell my friends about your help.  You are a true asset to Rocky Mountaineer Vacations.”
Sue Medcraft, Australia

Sherry

Background/Individual Expertise:
After completing my education in Tourism Marketing and working as an ESL Tour Guide in the Canadian Rockies, I became hooked on working in the travel sector.  I have travelled to many places, taking my first trip to Mexico at just nineteen years old.  Since that time, I make sure to visit one place every year that I have never been to before.

Why visit the Canadian Rockies?
The Canadian Rockies are so magnificent when you see them up close for the first time.  Even after seeing them as a kid, and spending a year as a Tour Guide in the Rockies, the beauty of them still takes my breath away.  You really know you are in a special place when you see the pristine green lakes, when you smell the fresh mountain air, and spot wildlife in its natural environment.

Testimonial:
“This is a message to say how much I enjoyed the rail journey from Vancouver to Calgary.  It was wonderful!  The service of the young people was exceptional, a great welcome in today’s world.  I greatly enjoyed the food and beverages.  I have recommended this trip to many of my acquaintances. I plan to do it again sometime soon. “
