Sometimes it can be tough to get into the holiday spirit - the days are darker and colder and the demands of the season can be overwhelming. But no matter how scrooge-like I’m feeling I can always depend on the splendour of holiday lights to lift my spirits and put me in a more festive mood.



The Accidental Holiday Shopper

When I asked my brother-in-law to provide me with some adjectives to describe Christmas shopping he replied without hesitation – crowded, hectic and stressful. I would wager a guess that he is not the only person that doesn’t leap for joy at the idea of hitting the streets to find just the right gift for family and friends. It’s particularly hard these days when you’re looking for something original and everything seems to be made in mass quantities. It makes for an unsatisfying shopping experience that is much like looking into a full fridge and finding there isn’t anything to eat.
