Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (February 19, 2008) – When booking a vacation don't try to squeeze it all into bite-sized pieces, enjoy extended time off and make the most of your vacation experience. Planning a longer escape with Rocky Mountaineer Vacations, owner and operator of the world-acclaimed Rocky Mountaineer train, means receiving extra perks. Guests have a chance to enhance their vacation with Vacation Plus, a value-added offer available from now until April 18, 2008. Receive a $400 per couple credit when booking a minimum six-night rail vacation through Canada’s West and the Canadian Rockies for travel during the 2008 operating season. And to top it off, receive an additional bonus of $200 for a total of $600 per couple credit when booking a package tour featuring the Rocky Mountaineer Fraser Discovery Route.

"Vacation time is a precious element in our lives today, and people are getting creative at maximizing their time off," says Randy Powell, President of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations "Our Vacation Plus offer allows guests to make the most of their travel experience by giving them added value that can be put towards a meal plan, sightseeing tour or make a significant difference in the cost of a flight.”

Vacation Plus applies to a wide selection of packages ranging from luxury holidays and adventurous vacations to independent rail and drive tours. Select the ever-popular 7 night-8 day Western Explorer package, which features the spectacular Rocky Mountaineer train journey between the coastal city of Vancouver, BC, and the Rocky Mountain destination of Jasper, Alberta. Choose a qualifying package that includes the Fraser Discovery Route and receive an extra bonus of $200. Packages for this bonus include: Grand Rail Circle, Northern Explorer, Golden Circle Via Whistler or the Classic Rail Circle. The ten night-eleven day Grand Rail Circle package features three rail routes including the Whistler Mountaineer train and the recently launched Rocky Mountaineer Fraser Discovery Route, a two-day, all daylight rail journey between Whistler, BC and Jasper, AB.

To take advantage of Vacation Plus, guests must book their six-night or more Rocky Mountaineer Vacation package (must include the Rocky Mountaineer) by April 18, 2008 for travel during the 2008 operating season. Travellers can tailor their trip of a lifetime by using the credit towards extra hotel nights, car rentals, meals, airfare, additional packages and more. The credit can only be used towards the purchase of additional services and not upgrades. This offer is applicable to new bookings only and is not available in conjunction with any other promotion. Some further restrictions may apply.
