Here are a few of our recent awards:
2008 – World’s Top 25 Trains - The Society of International Railway Travelers
The renowned Rocky Mountaineer train has been named one of the World’s Top 25 Trains by the U.S. based Society of International Railway Travelers, which is an organization that is comprised of travellers who love the comfort and romance of rail travel. Some of the other trains on the list are: the Blue Train (South Africa), the Venice Simplon–Orient–Express (Europe) and the Shangri-La Express (China/Tibet).
2008, 2007 - "50 Best Employers in Canada" - Globe and Mail Report on Business/Hewitt Associates
Rocky Mountaineer Vacations (RMV) was recognized as one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada in the annual awards presented by the Globe and Mail's Report on Business and Hewitt Associates for the second consecutive year. RMV ranked in the top twenties for both 2007 and 2008. The rankings are based on a number of criteria, but the most important component is direct employee feedback.
2007 - At the 2007 British Columbia Tourism Industry Conference held in Victoria, British Columbia, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations was recognized with 3 prestigious industry awards.
The Tourism Industry Leader of the Year Award was awarded to Peter Armstrong, Founder and CEO of Armstrong Group, owner and operator of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations for his vision, leadership and contribution to the tourism industry in British Columbia. RMV was awarded the Foresight Sustainability Award for leadership in implementing sustainable tourism practices and was also recognized with the Best Tourism Marketing Campaign Award for the highly successful marketing campaign titled, "What's in the Box," for the launch of the new Whistler Mountaineer train.
2007, 2006, 2005 - World Travel Award, “World’s Leading Travel Experience by Train”
For the third year in a row, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations received this award from the World Travel Awards, the most comprehensive, the biggest, and the most prestigious awards program in the travel industry worldwide.
2006 - Council of Tourism Associations of BC “Employees First” Award
This award is presented annually by Tourism BC and the Council of Tourism Associations of BC to recognize a British Columbia tourism employer who has upheld high standards of excellence in human resource management.
2006 - Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association “President’s Award”
Presented by the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association, this award recognizes an organization that has made a significant contribution to promoting tourism throughout the region.
2006 - Rock, Paper, Scissors “Humour in the Workplace” Award
Armstrong Group was honoured by “Rock, Paper, Scissors” in their 3rd Annual Humour in the Workplace Awards, sponsored by Vancity. The organization was recognized for its commitment to communication and fun, as demonstrated by impromptu corporate lumberjack contests and “Tricky Sticky” obstacle courses.
2005 – Princess Cruises “C.R.U.I.S.E.” Award
Princess Cruises presented Gray Line West with the “Shore Excursion of the Season” award for the “Butchart & Butterfly Gardens” tour in Victoria, BC. The annual C.R.U.I.S.E. (Courtesy, Respect, Unfailing In Service Excellence) awards are based on guest feedback and are given to selected tour operators in the Alaskan and Canadian ports where Princess Cruises visit.
