Peter Armstrong Right from the beginning, Peter Armstrong has had a strong commitment to sustainability. In 1989, Peter assembled the successful team that developed the Rocky Mountaineer rail service. Through Peter’s insistence, the Rocky Mountaineer became the first train company in Canada to install holding tanks for sewage on all their trains. Peter’s relentless dedication to doing the right thing and his principles of guest service have been integral in creating the company’s high level of guest satisfaction. And Peter is determined to have Armstrong Group take a leadership role in the development of sustainable tourism practices. |

Ian Robertson As well as being responsible for corporate communications and public affairs for the Armstrong Group, Ian Robertson oversees the sustainable development of all of its companies. This is a role that is close to his heart, as he began his career with the Armstrong Group as the company’s Director of Sustainable Development. Ian ensures that Armstrong Group adheres to the basic principles of developing and nurturing a strong “triple bottom line”. The triple bottom line refers to striking a balance of pursuing economic growth in the present and preserving the natural and human environment upon which quality of life and future growth depend. It involves working closely with communities and partners throughout British Columbia and Alberta to ensure that Armstrong Group strives to achieve our goals of sustainability while supporting stakeholders in the region and in the industry.
