This onboard position will suit hard working, organized individuals who have excellent time management skills, are independently motivated, and thrive in a close team atmosphere. Experience in a role within the tourism and hospitality industry is preferred.
What Can You Expect?
A Train Support Administrator works 2 to 4 trips per month. A trip entails 2 to 4 days.
Our guests travel for 2 or more days onboard the train, with overnight stops in Kamloops, Whistler, or Quesnel. Our trains travel eastbound (between Vancouver and the Canadian Rockies destinations of Banff, Lake Louise, or Jasper) or westbound (from the Canadian Rockies to Vancouver).
You will be working with the Train management, Onboard Host and Logistics teams to support operational and administrative needs onboard.
You will also be tasked with the set-up and maintenance of the supply/crew cars and are responsible for inventory control of both merchandise and consumables onboard the train.
You will be working with our Onboard team to oversee proper delivery of our Point of Sale system. This includes sales input, troubleshooting and tracking merchandise returns, exchanges and second-day-sales.
This Position Requires:
A clear understanding of guest service excellence and expectations.
Strong organization and time management skills.
Fluency in English (oral and written skills). French, Mandarin, Spanish, and German considered an assets.
A team player with a positive “can-do” attitude.
Point of Sale system experience is preferred.
Excellent MS Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Travel away from home base for up to 4 days at a time.
Successful candidates must be able to commit to working the whole season (April to October) without any outside restraints to work, including school commitments.
While You're at Work:
12 to 15 hour days.
Shared accommodation with one other team member at a local hotel at each overnight destination will be provided, as well as meals and per diems.
