Train for Heroes
Every year, Rocky Mountaineer celebrates people and organizations who give selflessly to positively impact the lives of others. We invite these heroes onboard the train with their families for an unforgettable experience in Western Canada, created with the support of our partners. These heroes spend quality time connecting with loved ones and making memories to last a lifetime.
This year, we welcome good samaritans and unsung heroes from Fort McMurray who selflessly supported their community during its time of need. From the initial evacuation, to ongoing efforts to rebuild the community, these are regular people who are making a real difference in lives of others. We extend our profound admiration to these heroes, and we thank the Canadian Red Cross, local municipality, and other local organizations for connecting us with them.
2016 Train for Heroes
Meet this year's heroes as they embark on an unforgettable journey as part of our Train for Heroes program.
Our Partners
Since the wildfire, the Canadian Red Cross has been on the front lines of the recovery efforts. To support its effective and meaningful work, Rocky Mountaineer donated $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Alberta Fires Response. Should you wish to support the recovery, or learn about the amazing work the Canadian Red Cross is doing to help families affected by the wildfire, please visit redcross.ca.
We extend our gratitude to Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for their valued support in making Train for Heroes a memorable experience for the families involved. We also honour the Fairmont Alberta properties who provided a $25,000-donation toward the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts, and offered a discounted room rate for Fort McMurray residents in the wake of the wildfire.
We would also like to acknowledge our partners who played an integral role in the success of the program for our heroes.
