Our rail journeys begin and end from a number of sought-after destinations in Western Canada and the American Southwest. To navigate the information below, choose the destination you are traveling to and view transportation options from several common locations. Information, times, and prices are provided as a guideline only and are subject to change.
Downtown Vancouver
If you journey begins in Vancouver, we recommend flying into Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and staying in downtown Vancouver.

Arrive at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and transfer to your hotel independently with a variety of transportation options.
Canada Line: this rapid transit rail line takes roughly 30 minutes to get from YVR to downtown Vancouver. You will need a 2-zone ticket to go downtown, and the fare will be approximately $9 per person, one way.
Taxi: transfer time from YVR to downtown Vancouver is roughly 35 minutes, and the zone fare ranges from approximately $34-$40 depending on drop-off location.
Ride-share: Uber and Lyft are available in Vancouver through their apps.
Private transfers: private transfers by luxury sedan or SUV are available to book directly through Rocky Mountaineer and require at least one night accommodation pre-train departure. The approximate price for a private luxury sedan transfer is $286 for 2 guests and a private SUV transfer is approximately $318 for up to 4 guests. Car rentals: car rental facilities are located just steps from the YVR terminal on the ground floor of the parkade. We recommend making a reservation to secure a vehicle as they can be in high demand. Accessible car rentals are available at YVR with advanced notice to ensure availability.

Banff Airporter: daily shuttle from YYC to Banff, year-round. The cost is approximately $70-$78 per person. Reservations are required. Transfer time is roughly 2 hours.
Private transfers: various private transfers are available through companies including Banff Chauffeur and Banff Sedan for transportation to Banff from YYC. Reservations are required with prices available by quote. Approximate transfer time varies by provider.
Rocky Mountaineer private transfers: private transfers by luxury sedan or SUV are available to book directly through Rocky Mountaineer and require at least one night accommodation pre-train departure. The approximate price for a private luxury sedan transfer is $788 for 2 guests and a private SUV transfer is approximately $1,062 for up to 4 guests. Taxi: the approximate cost from YYC to Banff for the 140km journey is approximately $250 one way.
Uber: the average cost of an Uber ride, specifically from Calgary to Banff is approximately $150–$300 depending on the time of day and service availability. Check the app for the latest pricing.
Car rentals: the Rental Car Centre is located on the Departures Level across the roadway from the Domestic Terminal. We recommend making a reservation to secure a vehicle as they can be in high demand. Ensure to check for return locations for your final destination as they are limited in certain areas.

Roam Transit Route 8X: departing year-round, daily from Lake Louise, this express service travels to downtown Banff (Banff High School Transit Hub). Rates range from approximately $5 - $25. Transfer time is roughly 45 minutes. Reservations strongly recommended. Roam Transit pick-up and drop-off locations are at bus stops and pick-up in both the Lake Louise Village South and the Lake Louise Lakeshore.
Roam Transit Route 8S: departing from July to September, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Lake Louise, this service travels to downtown Banff (Banff High School Transit Hub) via the Bow Valley Parkway with stops at Johnston Canyon, Castle Junction, Protection Mountain and Baker Creek. Rates range from approximately $5 - $25. Reservations strongly recommended. Roam Transit pick-up and drop-off locations are at bus stops and pick-up in both the Lake Louise Village South and the Lake Louise Lakeshore.
Private charter: Mountain Park Transportation offers private charters from select hotels in Lake Louise to your hotel in Banff. Transfer time is roughly 1 hour and costs approximately $140 for up to 14 guests.
Rider Express: offers motorcoach transfers between Banff and Lake Louise. Transfer time is roughly 45 minutes and costs approximately $38. * Please note, Rider Express only offers drop-off in the Lake Louise village, not the lakeshore.
Fairmont Shuttle: guests of the Fairmont can take a discounted hotel shuttle between Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Banff Springs. The shuttle departs twice daily during the summer season and is approximately 40 minutes. Reservations required. Roundtrip is $50 per person.

SunDog Tours: travels from Jasper to Banff from mid-October to the end of April and departs from Jasper Park Lodge at 8:00am or hotels within the Jasper Townsite starting at 8:15am. Transfer time is roughly 4 hours and costs approximately $79 per person. Reservations required.

Please note, the only direct flights to Canyonlands Regional airport are from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. More details can be found below.

Currently, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) offers two to three flights per day to Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY).

Moab Express: provides a shared airport shuttle to your Moab hotel. Booking in advance is recommended due to limited capacity. Pricing for 1-2 passengers is approximately $27 per person, with rates decreasing if more passengers are in your booking. Private shuttles can also be booked by request.
Taxi: there are limited taxis available in Moab available through Moab Taxi or Moab Toy Taxi, so wait times and availability vary. Reservations are recommended. Call to request.
Ride-sharing: both Lyft and Uber are available in Moab, however, drivers are limited and not always available.
Car rentals: rental cars can be reserved through Enterprise from CNY. We recommend making a reservation to secure a vehicle as they can be in high demand. Rentals from CNY are only available as a one-way rental to downtown Moab. To book, please call Enterprise directly and let them know you are a Rocky Mountaineer guest.

Snow Country: provides shared transfers from Salt Lake City to Moab from various Salt Lake City hotels for approximately $145 per person. Transfer time is roughly 4 to 5 hours. Transfers can be added directly through Rocky Mountaineer and require at least one night accommodation pre-train departure. Contact our Reservations Team for more information. Private transfers may be available to book by contacting Snow Country directly.
Redtail Air: offers flights between Moab & Salt Lake City on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The approximate costs is $150 one way or $300 roundtrip. Flights leave from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) at 3:15pm and arrive at Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) around 4:45pm.
Car rentals: rental cars can be picked up in downtown Salt Lake City or from Salt Lake City International Airport. We recommend making a reservation to secure a vehicle as they can be in high demand. Ensure to check for return locations for your final destination as Moab only has Enterprise and Alamo facilities.

Rockies to the Red Rocks Excursion Salt Lake City: this package starts with a transfer from Salt Lake City to Moab and a 2-night stay in Moab before beginning their journey onboard Rocky Mountaineer. More information can be found here.

Rockies to the Red Rocks at Leisure: this package starts with a guided sightseeing transfer from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon via Zion National Park with an overnight stay in Bryce Canyon. The following day, guests enjoy another guided transfer from Bryce Canyon to Moab, including a tour of Capitol Reef National Park, with a 2-night stay in Moab before beginning their journey onboard Rocky Mountaineer. Moab Express: if you are flying into Grand Junction, the best way to travel to Moab is by shuttle. These shuttles are based on your flight time and pickup location. Transfer time is roughly 90 minutes and costs approximately $325 per vehicle for up to 6 guests. Reservations are required.

Denver
If your package begins in Denver, we recommend flying into Denver International Airport (DEN) and staying in downtown Denver, near Union Station.

Airport Train (known as the A Line): transfer time from DEN to Denver Union Station is roughly 37 minutes and departs every 15 minutes during the day. The cost is approximately $10.50 each way. Board at the DEN Transit Center.
Taxi: transfer time from DEN to downtown Denver is roughly 25 minutes. The downtown Denver flat rate is approximately $57. Taxis are located on the 5th floor, island 1, outside the Terminal East doors 505, 507 and 511, and the Terminal West doors 506, 510, 512.
Ride-sharing: Lyft & Uber are available in Denver through their apps.

If your package begins in Salt Lake City, we recommend flying into Salt Lake City International Aiport (SLC) and staying in downtown Salt Lake City. If you have booked a package with us and are traveling from Moab, your transportation to Salt Lake City may already be included. Please double check your travel documents or speak with one of our Vacation Consultants prior to booking any transportation.

Light Rail Service: the TRAX Green Line travels from SLC to downtown Salt Lake City daily every 15 minutes during the week and every 30 minutes on the weekend. One-way fare is approximately $2.50 per adult or $1.25 for seniors.
Paratransit Service: public transportation for passengers with disabilities is provided by UTA’s Paratransit program. To make arrangements, contact UTA at 801.287.7433 and visit the UTA Paratransit Services page for more information.
Taxi: transfer time from SLC to downtown Salt Lake City is roughly 10 minutes. The maximum rate from the airport to within 500 East is approximately $27. The maximum rate outside of 500 East is approximately $32.
Hotel Shuttle: hotel transportation is available from the ground level of the terminal. More information is available at the airport information desks.
Salt Lake Express Shuttle: travels to and from multiple locations including SLC and the surrounding areas. Transfer time from SLC to downtown Salt Lake City is roughly 20 minutes and approximately $7.50 per person. Reservations are required.

Snow Country: provides shared transfers from Moab to Salt Lake City from various Moab hotels for approximately $145 per person. Transfer time is roughly 4 to 5 hours. Transfers can be added directly through Rocky Mountaineer and require at least one night accommodation post-train departure. Contact our Reservations Team for more information. Private transfers may be available to book by contacting Snow Country directly.
Moab Express: provides private transfers depending on vehicle and driver availability from various locations in Moab to Salt Lake City and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). The approximate cost is $720 for up to 3 passengers and takes roughly 4.5 hours. Reservations are required.
*Please note, this is a long shuttle that can often be delayed due to inclement weather between the months of September – April. Be sure to book dates and times that allow plenty of flexibility to make your flight.
Taxi: Moab Taxi provides transportation from Moab to all cities within a 250 mile radius as well as regional airports, bus stations, and train stations including Salt Lake City for up to 4 passengers per trip. There is only one taxi driver for all of Moab so wait times and availability vary. Call or text 435.210.4297 to request.
Redtail Air: offers flights between Moab & Salt Lake City on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The approximate costs is $150 one way or $300 roundtrip. Flights leave from Canyonlands Regional Airport (CNY) at 8:00am and arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) around 9:30am.
Private flight charter: Redtail Air also offers private charters from Moab to Salt Lake City. The starting rate for 1-5 passengers is approximately $1,800. Reservations are required.

Taxi: there are many taxi companies that provide service at LAS including Yellow Checker Star, Desert Cab, Lucky Cab, and Deluxe Taxicab Service. Fares from the airport to Las Vegas Blvd range from approximately $19-$27 depending on the zone/distance.
Bus: Route 108, Route 109, and Centennial Express (CX) all service the airport and travel along or near Las Vegas Blvd ending at the Bonneville Transit Center. A two-hour bus pass costs approximately $6, a 24-hour bus pass costs approximately $8, and a three-day bus pass costs approximately $20.
